That's my only explanation. Two weeks back, my mother in law collapsed. She'd had her first stroke about 14 years before. This latest one was fatal, she passed on a Wednesday. Somehow, we had the visitation on Thursday, the funeral on Friday and we left for a few days vacation on Sunday!

Sorry to hear about your MIL. I had the same experience with my grandmother. She died on Wed., we had the visitation on Friday and funeral on Sat. I was home on Sunday and the following Sat. we left for Hawaii. We went the next day (Sunday in Hawaii) to spread Craig's dad's ashes.
A little too much death for my liking...and yes, very surreal.
